Oklahoma City Thunder
Western Conference/Northwest Division
History of the Thunder
Following hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Hornets used Oklahoma City as its base until the New Orleans Arena was again ready for use. When Seattle Supersonics owner Clay Bennett could not come to terms with the city, he relocated his team to Oklahoma City after the city embraced the Hornets during their brief stay. The team plays at the Ford Center.
