History: Originally named the Builders Square Alamo Bowl, this major bowl game has been played annually since 1993 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Between 1999-2001, the game was renamed the Sylvania Alamo Bowl. MasterCard took over between 2002 and 2005 until Valero Energy Corporation took over in 2007.
