History: The Belk Bowl was originally christened the Queen City Bowl upon its inception in 2002. Sponsorship was then picked up by Continental Tire which they held for two years. Meineke Car Care then picked up sponsorship in 2005 and continued until 2010 when they began sponsoring the Texas Bowl
