History: The sixth oldest bowl game, it has been in existence since 1946 and was the brainchild of Charles Hilty Sr. The game ties in the SEC and the Big Ten and pays out $2.5 million for participants. Originally played at Fairfield Stadium which was expanded to 16,000 seats and renamed the Gator Bowl, which is located in Gainesville, Florida. Last season’s matchup saw Mississippi State run over the Michigan Wolverines 52-14.
