History: Originally sanctioned in 1976, the Independence Bowl matches teams from the Mountain West against teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Last year’s matchup, a very close game, was the Air Force Academy against Georgia Tech. Air Force walked away with a 14-7 victory. Ole Miss has the most Independence Bowl appearances with five.
