GEORGE AND REBA HIT THE ROAD IN 2010
Multi-Grammy Award Winner George Strait is back on the road in support of his 26th studio release “Twang”. Strait will be accompanied by Reba McEntire for the shows that will take him from Columbus, Ohio in September to Fargo, North Dakota in late October.
Strait, who was born in Poteet, Texas began his music career while attending SWT (Southwest Texas State University now Texas State) as he responded to an ad for a lead singer by The Ace in the Hole Band. He began playing in honky-tonks in and around south and central Texas. He attracted the notice of MCA Records after a bar owner and friend Erv Woolsey, who had worked for MCA, convinced reps from the label come listen to George and the Ace in the Hole Band. Strait was signed immediately and the rest is Country Music History.
On August 11, 2009, Strait released “Twang,” which has already been certified Gold, by December was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Country Album.
