The final Metallica studio album for Warner Brothers Records, “Death Magnetic” was released in September 2008 and debuted at number one in several countries and stayed on the Billboard Top 200 at number 1 for three consecutive weeks.
The World Wide Death Magnetic Tour kicked off on January 12, 2009 and will run through December 12, 2009 when they wrap up the tour at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. While most shows are sold out, you can get your Metallica Tickets here with us!
Drummer Lars Ulrich began forming what would be Metallica in early 1981. By 1983 the core group of Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Cliff Burton were ready to record what would become a part of metal history as “Kill ‘Em All” was released which peaked on the Billboard Top 200 at 120. 1984’s Ride the Lightning peaked out at 100.
With a new contract with Elektra Records A&R, Metallica put out the electric “Master of Puppets” album in 1984 this time the record peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Top 200 and sat on the charts for 72 weeks. By November 2003, it was certified Six Times Platinum.
