In what could be the last tour for Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor has joined forces with Jane’s Addiction for their NIN JA / Wave Goodbye Tour. Reznor has been hinting for months that this could very well be the last tour as NIN for some time. He recently posted on his web page “I’ve been thinking for some time now it’s time to make NIN disappear for a while.” Also, on the tour page of his site he has the dates 1989-2009.
Reznor released “The Slip” and most recently, on March 20, released to previously unreleased songs left over from the “With Teeth” sessions. The songs were released free of charge on ninja2009.com.
Reznor formed NIN in 1998/99 but couldn’t find anyone to help him articulate the visions he had in his head for his music. So, taking a page from Prince, Reznor played all the instruments himself except drums and released “Pretty Hate Machine” which became one of the first independently released records to go Platinum Certification.
His current World Tour will conclude August 12. 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan.
