In 2005, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl celebrates
forty-seven outstanding years of post-season college football action. AutoZone
Liberty Bowl fans have welcomed legendary field generals and have witnessed unforgettable
MVP performances by some of college football's finest athletes. We invite you
to join in the festivities as this year's gridiron heroes carry on what has become
a time-honored Memphis and national tradition. Bear
Bryant coached his final game in the 1982 Liberty Bowl, leading the Crimson Tide
to victory over Illinois 21-15. He died on January 26, 1983. The
AutoZone Liberty Bowl has a rich tradition of pageantry, and the events surrounding
the Bowl are considered the crown of the Memphis social scene. You can cheer on
bands from all over the country at the parade or dance the night away at the Peabody
during the Black Tie Dinner/Dance. Eat and drink your fill at the Pre-Game Buffet,
or attend the Awards Luncheon. Whatever your tastes are, there is an event for
you or your family. |
