Synopsis:The Broadway revival of Thorton Wilder's "Our Town", starring Academy Award-winning actor Paul Newman, has confirmed its New York City plans. The play will begin performances at the Booth Theatre on November 22 and officially open on December 4. Newman starred in Our Town in early summer at the Westport Country Playhouse, where his wife, Joanne Woodward, is the artistic director. The production, directed by James Naughton, was a huge hit, selling out quickly. In addition to Newman, the play also starred Jayne Atkinson, John Braden, Frank Converse, Jane Curtin, Jeffrey DeMunn, Mia Dillon, Ben Fox, Maggie Lacey, Jake Robards and Stephen Spinella.
The entire Westport cast will reprise their roles on Broadway. Our Town will launch the new "Tuesdays at 7" initiative. It will have the special curtain time of 7pm on Tuesdays throughout its entire run. (Most Broadway shows are not switching to 7pm Tuesday curtains until January.) The Booth has been dark since I'm Not Rappaport closed on September 8. Our Town is only scheduled to run at the theater through January 26.
