RECAP: The Portland Trailblazers are looking to repeat their team's last season performance (50-32) without the implosion in the playoffs. The franchise has selected Rich Cho, former assistant GM for the OKC Thunder, to take over the General Manager position. The team has had very little movement over the summer as F Juwan Howard left to sign with the Miami Heat and G Wesley Matthews signed a free agent contract with the team.

In the draft, the Blazers traded F Martell Webster to the Timberwolves for the 16th pick in the draft and Ryan Gomes (later waived to clear cap space). With the selection, the Blazers selected Luke Babbit, a 6'9" F out of Nevada. The team has very high hope for Babbitt and hopes that he will see some playing time as a backup to SF Nicolas Batum. The second pick was on 6-4 Memphis Guard Elliot Williams whom the franchise sees as super athletic. He is expected to compete with Jerryd Bayless for minutes. The final pick in the draft was on 6'3" guard Armon Johnson also out of Nevada. The Blazers traded up to get Johnson who should compete for a roster spot with Patty Mills.
