The 90's were a poor decade for the franchise from Anaheim. The only significant events were the retirement of jersey #30 belonging to one time Angel Nolan Ryan who posted a 138-121 record with 3.06 ERA. Also, Garret Anderson became the 1st rookie to win the Player of the Month Award in July 1995. Garret hit .410 that month.

The new millennium proved to be a good omen for the Angels who in 2002 who recorded a 10-game winning streak in September to clinch a wild card spot in the playoffs. In the playoffs, the Angels would dismiss the Yankees, defeat the Twins for the ALCS and defy the odds to beat the San Francisco Giants for their first World Series Title.

The Angels are managed by Mike Scioscia and are Coached by Ron Roenicke (Bench Coach), Alfredo Griffin (First Base Coach), Dino Ebel (Third Base Coach), Mickey Hatcher (Hitting Coach), Mike butcher (Pitching Coach), Orlando Mercado (Bullpen Coach) and Steve Soliz (Bullpen Catcher)
