STATUS: 23.5 game(s) back, 4th in the American League East

Recap: Manager Cito Gaston is in the final year of his contract and already knows he won't be around next season but will make sure GM Alex Anthopouos doesn't trade 3B/OF Jose Bautista. The rest of the team is hoping the same thing. "I hope that Alex will bring him back," Gaston said. "I can see him here for a few years, but I'm not going to be here, so it's not up to me."
