Philadelphia Phillies Information

SEASON RECORD: 53-42 (0.558) as of July 18th
STATUS: 1st in the National League East

Recap: Phillies fans are still awaiting the big trade that will put Roy Oswalt into a Philadelphia uniform. But the deadline is fast approaching and although ESPN is claiming the deal imminent, none has yet to be struck. The team has also been struck with the injury bug as 2B Chase Utley tore a ligament in his right thumb and looks to be back by mid to late August.

The defending National League Champions and 2009 World Series winners are looking to repeat as NL Champions and manager Charlie Manuel has called up RHP Vance Worley to help in the second half of the season. Winning home games has not been the problem but road victories are hard to come by. "It's a big deal. I think home teams play better at home. It feels good, it feels real good. I talked to our guys before the game and told them how important home-field advantage was," Charlie Manuel said recently.

The team's current pitching rotation and bullpen:
LHP Elvis Araujo
RHP Chad Billingsley
RHP Kevin Correia
RHP Justin de Fratus
LHP Jake Diekman
RHP Luis Garcia
RHP Ken Giles
RHP Jeanmar Gomez
LHP Cole Hamels
LHP Adam Morgan
RHP Sean O'Sullivan
RHP Jonathan Papelbon
