Recap: The San Francisco Giants are playing some of the best ball of the season right now and emotions are running high on the franchise. Recently both Manager Joe Torre and Bench coach Bob Schaefer were suspended a game apiece after a blowup during a rivalry game between the Giants and the Dodgers after Don Mattingly made two trips to the mound to speak to P Jonathan Broxton. Mattingly left but then turned back around and stepped towards the mound to answer a James Loney question. Giants Manager Bruce Bochy immediately jumped out and ran to plate umpire Adrian Johnson to complain.
Injuries are pretty much a non-issue for the team as only LHP Dan Runzler will be out until at least late August; RHP Todd Wellemeyer began his rehab assignment on July 14th and will make a rehab start for AAA Fresno late in July.
