Recap: The Texas Rangers are in a strange position midway through the season… that is, in first place in the AL West and looking to keep a firm hold of the division and not let go. Players playing great ball include 2B Ian Kinsler 15-game hitting street (hitting .323), 3B Michael Young moved onto the Rangers all time home run list with the 150th of his career. Young also holds the Rangers all-time records in hits and triples and is second in doubles. Young also only needs six more homers to tie A-Rod for 5th All-Time among Texas Hitters.
Injuries to the team include RHP Rich Harden, LHP Derek Holland, RHP Dustin Nippert, RHP Mark Lowe, RHP Erick Hurley and RHP Omar Poveda.
