2011 Season Outlook: There was no real rush to upgrade a defense that ranked near the bottom in every category in 2010, so there is a problem there but offensively, the team should shine under the leadership of rookie QB Blaine Gabbert. Look for Gabbert to have an exceptional season and the Jags to finish better than their 9-7 2010 record.
Recap: Fans are frustrated with the lack of effort on behalf of Jaguars Head Coach Jack Del Rio. Some say he just doesn’t care and they may be right. The biggest reflection of the coach is on the field and their play in 2009 was mediocre at best.
Some early trades gave the Jags some extra picks. DE Quentin Groves was traded to the Raiders for a 5th round pick and in the draft selected Cal. DT Tyson Alualu with the 10th overall selection. They then selected another DT, Louisiana Tech’s D’Anthony Smith. The best pick of the draft was the 153rd overall pick of Murray State’s DE Austen Lane.
